What Was is my response to the political policies enacted to reduce protection of federal lands designated as national monuments. In the spirit of reducing, reusing and recycling, I reused parts of photos from other photographs and applied them to create a new iteration. The work also references the human subconscious and suggests a relationship to a higher, natural state of being. The transformative state of the work itself in relation to consciousness.
